Objects will render white until you add render color, highlight, texture, transparency, and bumps. The above animation rendered in about 30 hours on my now 2 GPU equipped render farm. Rendering basics In addition to shaded previews, Rhino provides full-color rendering with lights, transparency, shadows, textures, and bump mapping. But if you are just starting, I would recommend you to use just one software, and learn it quite well, before you move to another one. A typical 4K frame in Cycles on the NVIDIA GPUS fully rendered in blender rolls in at about a minute a frame. It renders in a viewport using Rhiono’s materials Here is AMD’s blurb: Radeon ProRender is now available for Rhino 6. It’s based on OpenCL, so should work on Nvidia or AMD graphics cards. IMO, knowing more than one 3d software is always good because it will give you more tools and possibilities to add more to your visuals. AMD has just released their renderer for Rhino. Personally, I export my models from Rhino and import them in Cinema 4D, where I complete my models and animate them in case I need. TinkerCAD won’t win you an architecture prize, but it will help you learn basic CAD. It’s free and online-based, so anyone can access it using a browser. So, if you want to be able to render within Rhino just now, your only choice is moving to Windows Rhino, which is also a big pain if you use OSX exclusively… Another solution from Autodesk, TinkerCAD, is a simple 3D rendering and modeling software designed for educational purposes. ![]() But the experience is not as smooth as rendering within your native modelling application.Īnother option you have is exporting your 3d model, and open it in another 3d software that support renders plugins, like Cinema 4D, SketchUP, Maya, Blender… but again it is not as smooth as rendering within Rhino, and you have to learn a new software and pay for it… There are a couple of exporter, Maxwell and Keyshot, that will let you export your geometry from Rhino and open your model in another application just for rendering. What I mean by integrated within Rhino is, been able to apply materials, lights and render, always in Rhino. Currently there are not third party render plugins for Mac Rhino integrated within Rhino environment.
